How to root your samsung galaxy gear

How to root your samsung galaxy gear

December 24, 2013

Rooting. Well, it seems to be the way many of us are using nowadays to make work of their devices as per our wish. I would like to acknowledge everyone once again about what is rooting. Rooting means to change your device’s theme’s appearance and many other features by which your device can perform in the more controlled and better way. It can be done by changing the factory setting in one or other way.

Rooting your Samsung gear –

For rooting your Samsung gear you must keep in mind a few things they are –

  1. Firstly we need a Samsung gear approved smart device like one can use note 3.
  2. Then we will have to install the gear manager on the smart device.
  3. Then we have to enable the USB debugging option on our Samsung gear.
  4. Then the next step is to install a USB driver.
  5. And finally, we need a windows OS PC or a laptop.

Steps to root your Samsung galaxy gear –

  1. The first step to root the gear is to download Cydia impactor on you our PC.
  2. Secondly, we will have to extract the downloaded files.
  3. Next, we have to run the impactor and choose the option to allow the Samsung gear always.
  4. Till now we have already reached halfway of rooting our gear, but we have to install the SuperSU app after which only our rooting will be complete.
  5. So for installing the SuperSU app we first have to download it from either play store or the Samsung website.
  6. Then after downloading and installing, we have to open the SuperSU app from our galaxy gear.
  7. It might then ask to update the SU binary file. We have to select OK.
  8. Well, now our Samsung gear is completely rooted if everything went fine.

Disadvantages one might face –

  • Warranty voided – once we have rooted any device not just the Samsung gear the factory guarantee is voided and we are solely responsible for our device.
  • Malware risk – once your device is rooted it is more prone to malware attack which is pretty much less if the device is not rooted.
  • Bricking  – this is the worst of the disadvantages faced as if the device is bricked then the device won’t function at any cost and the company would never accept the device for repairs once it is rooted, so we can also say that our device will be doomed.

Word of concern –

I would be saying that rooting is a wonderful thing as it gives the complete rights of the device to its owner and then one can easily change the themes and change all the other files which were not possible before. But also for everything thing, there are two sides if there are advantages then there are disadvantages also for the same purpose and one should root their device only if they have the complete knowledge about it and are ready to face consequences if any arises.
