Guide How to Update Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean using Leaked Custom ROM

Last May-2013 at the Google IO Conference, Google announced “Google Play Edition” for Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One Android Mobile Phones, it is also reported that in Mid July, the company is preparing to release official firmware for Samsung which would be latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
Co-Coincidently, there have been a leaked version of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean version available now at the XDA Developers Forum, by an Avid forum member “HazAnwar”, and reported that he had leaked it to SAM Mobile.

The Company, SAMMobile has duly managed to port the leaked Android 4.3 Jelly Bean custom ROM from Galaxy S4 GT-I9505G to the regular LTE model, Galaxy S4 I9505 (Snapdragon 600). Which means it is now very much possible to install the leaked version of Android Jelly Bean 4.3 on Galaxy S4 I9505 using ClockworkMod CWM Recovery. In this Guide, we would go through the step by step guide from downloading to installing the leaked Android 4.3 jelly bean Firmware into Samsung S4.

 

Some Cautions before you move ahead with the Tutorial presented below :

  • The update had been successfully tested on Snapdragon 600 variant of Galaxy S4 aka GT-I9505, please do not try it on any other Device which may cause in damage or brick your device
  • Backup your personal data from the Phone and SD card would be goto if you can also backup your existing ROM which may prevent if the new ROM fails to work as desired
  • Installing the leaked ROM requires the Mobile Device to be factory unlocked using CWM recovery.
  • Before you continue to perform Wipe Data/Factory Reset which will wipe phone’s system partition, Call Logs, SMS’s, Installed Application on the device.
  • Ensure you are using the correct USB Drivers on your computer to which the device is connected. If not Download the Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 USB Drivers.
  • Make sure USB Debugging mode is enabled, which can be pursued on the Phone Device by Going to Settings -> Developer Options -> USB Debugging mode -> Enable
  • Make sure your Phone battery is Full Charged (Not Less than 70% Power Remaining)

Do Not overlook and continue if you have missed any of the above points, which may result in water damage to the Phone device.

1. Start with Downloading the Leaked Android 4.3 Jelly Bean ROM – onto your computer system
– Odexed port zip
– Eodexed port zip

2. Connect your Phone device to your computer and see if the SD card is mounted, if not install Samsung S4 USB Drivers, Install and the SD card should be mounted now.

3. Copy the Download Zip Files ie. Android-4.3-I9505GUEUBMFP-Odexed-I9505.zip or Android-4.3-I9505GUEUBMFP-Deodexed-I9505.zip to your phones SD Card without extracting.

4. Poweroff the Phone and remember also to disconnect the USB cable connected.

5. Now we need to start the phone device into ClockworkMod recovery (CWM), this can be achieved by pressing together Volume Up, Home, and Power buttons and holding till the screen flashes.

6. Now you can take an Android backup of Existing ROM which may prevent if the new ROM fails to work as desired, To take a backup, choose Backup and Restore and then hit Backup on next screen. Return to main recovery menu once the backup is complete.

7. Ensure you do a full data wiping task to eliminate conflicts between newly installed ROM and previous ROM. This can be achieved by clicking Wipe Data/Factory Reset -> choose Yes. Return back to the CWM recovery Main Menu and click Wipe Cache partition, and then select Wipe Dalvik Cache under advance option.

8. Now Select “Install Zip from SD card” and then select “Choose Zip from SD card”, here you need to navigate in the SD card where you have copied the Android-4.3-I9505GUEUBMFP-Odexed-I9505.zip or Android-4.3-I9505GUEUBMFP-Deodexed-I9505.zip and select it by tapping Power button. Confirm the ROM installation on now the installation should start.

9. Once the installation of ROM is complete, return to the main recovery menu and Select Reboot System Now. Now your phone should boot using the newly installed ROM (The initial startup or the first time startup takes around 5 minutes to complete bootstrap the OS).

10. Verify your installation on Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 go to Settings > About Phone.

Issues :
1. If you face any issue and want to install the previous ROM installed on your phone device, Go to CWM Recovery Mode, Slect Backup and Restore and Choose the Appropriate ROM Version.

Now you have installed Leaked latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on Galaxy S4 GT-I9505.
